AAA video game developer Gunzilla recently closed a $46M investment round led by Republic Capital. The session has also seen participation from Griffin Gaming Partners, Animoca Brands, Jump Trading, RW3 Ventures, CoinFund, Shima Capital, Dominance Ventures, Morningstar Ventures, and others.
The funds will be used to build the new platform named GunZ, which will be the foundation for "Off The Grid" (OTG), a free-to-play AAA Battle Royale 2.0. The GunZ will grant players complete ownership over their in-game possessions, as "Off The Grid" allows trading via an internal blockchain-based marketplace.
Gunzilla Co-founder Vlad Korolev says: "We are re-inventing the system, putting the power back in the hands of gamers, and are using blockchain technology to make this happen. With OTG and GunZ, we are creating a universe that will set a new standard for the industry."
